Outcome
Compare repositories without confusing different responsibilities or delivery models.
Before you begin
- At least two active repositories
- Comparable processing coverage across the selected period
Select repositories
Choose repositories with a meaningful reason for comparison, such as the same platform, product area, or improvement program. Confirm each repository has data for the entire period.
Normalize context
Record differences in team size, language, release model, generated code, operational load, and repository maturity before interpreting the metrics.
Compare trends
Compare direction and stability across consistent windows. Prefer each repository against its own baseline when the work types differ materially.
Open the evidence
Use the repository detail and contributing pull requests to explain a gap. A comparison should produce a system question, not a ranking.
