Outcome

Create scoped credentials, protect account access, and control retained or exported organization data.

Before you begin

  • A named owner and purpose for every credential or export
Create the narrowest API key scope required and store the displayed secret securely.

Create an API key

Choose the minimum abilities and a descriptive name. Copy the token once into an approved secret manager, test the intended endpoint, and revoke unused or exposed keys immediately.

Protect account access

Enable available multi-factor controls, review connected identities and active sessions, and revoke sessions you do not recognize. Use password confirmation for sensitive changes.

Set retention

Choose retention according to legal, security, and product needs. Understand which source records, attachments, and derived records are affected before shortening a window.

Export organization data

Request an export from the settings page, wait for completion, and store the result according to policy. Exports can contain customer and engineering context and should expire from shared storage.
