Methodology

The distribution on this page is illustrative aggregate data, published as a static, versioned dataset. It exists so you can sanity-check where a velocity number roughly lands, not to certify a score. In the product, your benchmark is built from three real sources: your own GitHub history, published DORA research, and the Pluralsight Flow engineering metrics reference.

Cross-team comparison is privacy-gated. It only appears once enough teams opt in (a k-anonymity floor), every other team is anonymized as "Company A/B", small teams are folded into an "Other teams" aggregate, and no individual engineer is ever named or ranked.
